Date of Wedding: 3rd June 2017 Marriage Location: Dillington House, Ilminster, Somerset Reception: Dillington House, Ilminster, Somerset
Chris & Fiona invited approximately 60 guests to witness their wedding at Dillington House, Nr Ilminster, Somerset.
Dillington’s main function these days is as a residential adult education centre but it was originally built in the 16th century and is most probably best known as the country residence of George III’s Prime Minister, Lord North. Dillington is a fabulous country house with stunning gardens and grounds. As a wedding venue Dillington is perfect and provides no end of photo opportunities to capture bride and groom.
Dress code for the day was formal with the groomsmen and Page Boy dressed in grey tails and white waistcoats with blue accessories matching the colour theme for the day.
Fiona asked Leanne (her Sister in Law to be) and friend Caitlin to be her Bridesmaids. Fiona wore a traditional floor length white dress with an empire waistline and strapless sweetheart shaped neckline. The bodice also had a high necked overlace which formed over-the-shoulder straps. The dress had a short court train and Fiona decided not to wear a veil. The Bridesmaids wore floor length blue dresses with an upper bodice that was patterned with diamantes.
Chris asked his friend James to be his Best Man, and his Ushers were made up of Nick (his Brother in Law) to be and his friend Dave.
Chris serves in the RAF and wore his No.1’s for the wedding and he looked incredible – great to see the groom in hi No.1’s.
The weather was in the main very good with sunshine throughout the day except for a little rain for an hour or two but this was during the Wedding Breakfast and so didn’t disrupt proceedings.
Fabulous day – I certainly had a great day as I’m sure did all of the family and friends that helped Chris and Fiona enjoy this very special day for them both.
