Date of Wedding: 31st May 2014 Marriage Location: St John's Church, Glastonbury, Somerset Reception: Compton Dundon Village Hall
Matt and Sam invited approximately 75 of their close friends and family to witness their marriage at The Church of St John the Baptist, Glastonbury, Somerset. The Church of St John’s dates from the 15th century and has been designated as a Grade I listed building. The tower rises to a height of 134½ feet, and is the second tallest parish church tower in Somerset – very nice church. The Dress code for this wedding was traditional and the couple chose a lovely blush pink come lilac for their colour theme.
Sam asked her two sisters – Becky and Lauren to be her Bridesmaids for the day – with their daughter Lacey as their gorgeous Flower Girl. The girls looked fabulous and I have to give a special thanks to Lauren for taking charge of the bride’s dress and train for the day, making sure that it looked at it’s brilliant best all day and helped me enormously.
The bridesmaids wore full-length, blush pink/lilac sheer satin halterneck dresses with Lacey wearing a white knee length fairy princess dress.
Sam looked stunning in her A line, white sleeveless lace bodice wedding dress, which was full length with a puddle train. A beautiful dress in which all agreed Sam looked an absolute picture.
Matt chose his brother Vince as his bestman and Uncle Geno and brother Rich as his Ushers. They were great fun all day and carried out their duties superbly to make sure the couple had a fabulous wedding day.
The Groom and groomsmen looked fantastic and were dressed in formal grey morning suits with matching waistcoats and lilac cravats and accessories to match the colour theme for the day.
After the service the couple had access to the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey which provided an impressive backdrop for the couple’s ‘special’ photographs for the day.
After our walk around the Abbey ruins and capturing some beautiful images we all headed off to Compton Dundon Village Hall where the afternoon and evening celebrations had been planned. Big congratulations to Sam and everyone else who contributed to the preparation of the Hall – I have seen many a reception area and this was as good as any I have seen.
This year my wedding description would not be complete without a mention of the weather and would you believe it at last the sun shone – in fact the weather behaved itself all day and contributed to an a wonderful wedding day.
Matt and Sam - great Wedding Day - thank you for asking me to capture your wedding images – I’m sure we have managed to capture some great images and I look forward to preparing them for you and showing you the results.
